Right now, I’m staying on the 29th floor of a ridiculous dorm building in Chicago with the most astounding view of the lake and the whole south of the city. I was in the middle of being overwhelmed by my love for big twinkling urban brightness when I hesitated — I can’t see a single star in the sky. But the moon is huge, hanging over the endless stretches of golden traffic lights, and it feels like a trade off I can live with.
